AREAWARE @ April and the Bear

This Autumn, April and the Bear introduces new brand AREAWARE into our virtual doors. And we couldn't be more pleased or EXCITED!

AREAWARE is one of those design brands that manages to create iconic and unusual designs that are high on function and style - and always with a dollop of humour. I first stumbled across their products in München. At the time, I was on a scarf-buying trip and I spotted these amazing animal-inspired cushions in the very slick office of the head designer. I adored them - they were unlike anything I had seen before and I became utterly obsessed with finding them.

And find them I did!

After much hunting, I discovered they were made by Brooklyn design house - AREAWARE who bring young talented designers together to create a strong platform for outstanding American design. Upon further investigation I discovered that AREAWARE not only designed the Fauna cushions that I had been searching the globe for but also other iconic pieces like the Harry Allen Piggy Bank.

So from the moment this store popped into existence, I knew that AREAWARE would be the perfect fit. Hope you love this collection of beautifully, thoughtful products for your home as much as I do.

Dublin-based interior enthusiast/ blogger and entrepreneur Siobhan Lam shares her own experiences of doing up her home in Portobello ... be warned it involves head wounds, bruised shins, fire engines and never-ending mountains of dust.
