It's that time of year, where my day begins with bundling myself into a waiting cab at 5 in the morning and frantically applying makeup to pillow smushed face in the hope that I can make my face look somewhat human-like before I reach the airport. A feat which is rarely achieved.
Yep we're talking TRADE SHOWS! This time round we travelled to London for Top Drawer and despite it being a fleeting visit we found lots of gorgeous bits and new interesting brands - not to mention bumping into much-loved old colleagues/friends. Which is always a treat, especially when one of them has a newly-formed perfectly sized bump in tow (SQUEEEEEEEE!)!
The show proved that copper is still very relevant - almost every stand featured something with that warm metallic sheen though there is a definite movement towards a cleaner gold aesthetic. Geometrical patterns were everywhere, from lighting to wallpaper even through to tablecloths - this look is quite specific and trend-driven but one A&TB will certainly be channelling in some capacity. Other highlights included awesome & SUPER FUN art prints, cutting-edge ceramics and super lush fabrics.
It's generally about this time that I want everything in the store IMMEDIATELY and get frustrated when suppliers talk about 'earliest dispatch in April' etc so for now here are some fairly shoddy shots that give a small flavour of what's to come this year.
PEACE!
