Cool Copenhagen...

It's January - which can only mean one thing, BUYING TRIPS! YEEEEOOW.

This year we decided to shimmy from our usual path and found ourselves in snowy Copenhagen. It was BALTIC but oh-so-pretty and even better, it was SUPER efficient. Everything seemed to work, everyone spoke English - trains arrived on time, directions given were spot on and everyone was incredibly helpful, however those Danes DO NOT like to party. Okay, we don't either but what we DO like to do is eat and when we attempted to find a place that served food after 9.30pm it was practically impossible. Why you ask? Well sirs because all the restaurants WERE CLOSED! Okay not all of them but most were closed which is madness, especially when you're in a new city and WANT to explore and be fancy and eat after 9pm. Rant complete. Moving on.
The next morning we found ourselves at Northmodern and as you might expect it was full of stunning and simple Scandinavian interior brands - metallic home accessories were plentiful as were signature light fixtures, everything from sofas to cushions seemed to be covered in dusty rose quartz and lush, beautiful botanicals gave the hall a distinctly tropical feel. New snazzy brands were found of course and will be revealed at a later date - OH THE MYSTERY, THE INTRIGUE!
After yoinking some free champers that was clearly meant for MUCH fancier individuals than us we hightailed it back into the city for beer at Noho and pizza at Mother in the Meatpacking district. The Meatpacking district in Copenhagen is deadly - it looks fairly dodge when you first approach but fight that gut instinct to run and you'll be rewarded with intensely good food, great atmosphere, authentically cool interiors and of course hipster clientele.

The next day was spent wandering into Copenhagen's finest decor shops - including HAY, Stilleben, Design Delicatessen and Illum Department Store to name but a few. Twas a veritable feast of interior finery, terribly inspiring of course - a fact which seem to be heightened by the snow-lined streets and copper clad roofs of the city.

DOS & DONT:
Do stay at the Astoria Hotel if you like your breakfast delicious and your staff SUPER FRIENDLY.
Don't stay at the Astoria Hotel if you are a light sleeper (RIGHT next to train station) and are partial to comfy beds.
Do wait for a table at Tommi's Burger Joint in the Meat packing District.
Do eat an AWESOME pizza at Mother in the Meat packing District.
Don't attempt to eat out late - you'll be wholly disappointed.
Do drink a coffee from the Coffee Collective
Do buy a Travel Pass (70% off usual price) and use public transport
And finally DO go to Copenhagen!
Peace!
