It's Friday! Yay. Which of course means work will be but a distant memory VERY soon but more importantly - it means it is time for Femme Crush Friday, so let's take a minute and talk about awesome women.
This week we're worshiping at the altar of TWO kickass ladies - Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson to be specific. Who I hear you cry! Well let me tell you, if you don't know who Ilana and Abbi are now, you are very lucky my friend because you haven't watched their comedy show Broad City yet and now you get to. For the first glorious, guffawing-so-hard-you-wet-your-pants time. Damn you.
Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson are both comedians, writers, actors and incredibly talented - they met in an NYC acting class and shortly after decided to write and star in their own web series which got noticed by some big shots (including Amy Poehler) and BOOM, Broad City was born.
Broad City is essentially about Ilana and Abbi's lives - two best pals living in New York City and all their insane adventures as they attempt to get through their twenties unscathed. Yes, I know - what a unique premise! But this show isn't about NY specifically, yes it's where they live but this show is about broads. Written by broads, starring broads and watched by broads. It's hilarious, honest, completely irreverent, current, acutely unapologetic, smart and utterly addictive.
