Supporting Irish talent and design is incredibly important to April and the Bear. We believe in supporting and nurturing good design, especially if its local and even more so if it's flippin' awesome - which it's safe to say Jenny Walsh and her designs are.
Jenny is a homewares designer based in Dublin, she designs and makes original and unique products - all from her studio in Bayside, Sutton which she shares with her adorable pooch Gizmo. Yes both of our dogs' names are the same - serendipity got nothing on us! ANYWAY, Jenny's work has a very distinct geometrical feel to it, she is known for creating really unique pieces in a clean, contemporary and utterly original way. And as soon as I was introduced to her incredible collection of laser-cut products, I knew her aesthetic and that of A&TB would work seamlessly together. So much so that during our first meeting together we decided on a completely unique product range that Jenny created exclusively for the store!
And so it is with great pleasure and major excitement that I introduce the stunning Jenny Walsh designs to April and the Bear. This Winter season we launch her range of laser-cut plywood tree decorations ( 5 unique designs), as well as the two exclusive bear design decorations which are ONLY available here.
Her very cool, contemporary lighting range will launch later this week. You're going to love them.
