Show your Dad how rad he really is with our gift guide...

And in the blink of an eye it's Father's Day ... again. This has to be one of the more painful holidays (?), father's don't really care for the day - we children certainly don't and it almost always ends with the cry 'What did you get me THAT for!' and several eye rolls.

Well this year it's going to be different pals - I'm here for YOU. I've put together a fool-proof Dad Gift Guide for father's day - pick out your Da type and hey presto ... you've just found the PERFECT GIFT.

One of the more common Dad's nowadays is Foodie Dad and he'll love these animal-inspired plates – the perfect dish for serving his favourite Roast of a Sunday (€16).

The next father figure is a rather cool individual - the Hipster Dad.If your Dad is a true hipster he will of course have an epic beard. Show him what you really think of his facial growth with this quirky Irish print (€20).

Book-smarts Dads are all partial to an old-school magnifying glass. This particular one harks back to an age where books ruled and Apples & Blackberries were but fruits and not human appendages. This guy would look fantastic in a traditional study or just propped atop the latest copy of New Scientist (€105)

Indecisive Dad will adore this humourous typographical and Irish print – mainly because it celebrates him and his most endearing trait (€20).

And then lastly to Out-doorsy Dad, the Dad who would sooner build a new shed from scratch than sit inside and help you with your geometry homework. Save him from his eternally filthy work-boots and give him this functional and super-stylish moustached-shaped door mat.

Happy Da Day!

April and the Bear is an award-winning DIY/ lifestyle and interiors blog. Dublin-based interior enthusiast/ blogger and entrepreneur Siobhan Lam shares her own experiences of doing up her home in Portobello ... be warned it involves head wounds, bruised shins, fire engines and never-ending mountains of dust. Don’t let this deter you though – we want to encourage and help other not-so-handy individuals to throw caution to the wind and pick up that sledge hammer, but to do so with slightly bent knees and a hard hat firmly on your head.

April and the Bear blog attracts devoted readers from across the globe, we won 'Best Business Blog' at the Image.ie Blog Awards 2014 and were nominated for the 2014 The BOPS and The Blog Awards 2014 AND we were nominated for 'Best Online Shop' in the Irish Times Best Shops Competition 2015.
